Interesting sound...

I can tell you have some serious potential man. This beat features some diversity that is not common among beginners.

Listening to professional mixes or even some great artists here on NG (ya, there are a few) will definitely help you get a feel for what a mix should and can sound like.

Try experimenting a little more with effects like delay, flange, and reverb which usually come standard on techno tracks.

Like Shadow echo said, you will be on your way to being a great artist in no time.

BTW, check out some of my stuff if you get a chance...

Hey thanks for the words of wisdom and I new this song would only be so good since it was rushed but my next song will make rock fanatics go crazy and maybe ill make a better version of this song one day.

you weren't

lying man. Some cool synths here. I love the evil feeling I get inside when I listen to this song. The bassline and drums bounce around really well together...I commend you on that because it's not easy to do. In fact, shit, all the synths have really cool rhythms that work well together.

I think the only thing this song is missing is some depth. Soundwise-ie: you could double the 16th note synth that sits in the right channel with another one panned to the left channel, etc., and arrangementwise- there are no cool surprises and it gets a little repetitive. Maybe add more to the drums...

You got a good track here mayn. Make us some more! By the way, could you check out my trance piece, ATWC[Pt.2] and tell me if it stinks as bad as the score says it does?

LL

RemedyX responds:

I was gonna add a pad to give it that ambience. But yeah I panned it to different channels to see what it would sound like. Thanks for the constructive critiscm.

original, but...

This is definitely very original and pretty trippy, but I'm not really sure if I would listen to it more than once. No offense dude, keep on truckin!

LL

Killah-J responds:

Yea its iight. thanks for the review though mayn.

Hollywood!

What up man. This song is freaking tragic. This would go perfectly in a slow motion montage...you know the kind where bullets are flying and people are dying. Haha, I mean that in the best way possible. Great essence to this song and very well produced and mastered. I commend you again...you really write some compelling pieces.

By the way, I'm going to "revive" the THE PIANO for you so we can collab on the rest...that cool with you?

LL

ps. I have a song "A Time will come [Pt.1]" that has a similar ambience, but not as sad. Lend me your ear and let me know what you think.

EN3RGIE responds:

Thx for your review and score!

ttyl!

bye!

ahhhh HA!

I love all the rhythm/delay and flangerized tracks. Indeed the splicing sounds tight as hell and you managad to mix it into the song in a very interesting and original way.

I also must say that I freaking LOVE piano in trance and techno when it is used correctly and this song defines that. It just sits nicely in the background and creates a great ambience.

The beat is solid, keeps the head bobbin'

Shit man, gonna give you a 5/5 on this one.

LL

Redse7en responds:

I love piano in trance and techno as well! Theres something about that natural sound that still finds its way into every song I do. I wish now after you said that, that I made the piano stand out more. Im glad you enjoyed the beat! It took me a while to get it right but in the end I still got your head bumping. Flanger and phaze is what I've been working on lately and I'm quite pleased myself. Since I dont know too much about the math I just try to remember how one knob changes the music. Im very pleased to see another person who enjoys my music this much! Now! Back to work for me!

Roll out!

Good strong intro. I kinda wanna hear more out of the bass though. Maybe throw another one on top of it after a few measures. I do like it when you take it out towards the middle...oHhhh and that break down beat is the krunk shizzle

Why is the quality so bad...the kick is distorted? What program do you use? Other than that, this beat rides man. Good stuff.

Check out some of my stuff if you get a chance.

LL

Redse7en responds:

Id love to do that but when I updated fruity loops and later reformated my hard drive I lost some of the samples used. This was an old song and at the time I did not know how to effectively use fruity plugins. This meant I used nothing but samples from other things. This is either the case of the quality or maybe at the time I exported it wrong. I do however still have the origional sheet music and will be getting back to this song for a remix. I appreciate the compliment on the beat at the break down! My friend said that "That was the part of the song where people OD (overdose)" I thought it was quite funny. When I get back to this song I will definately remember your great feedback!

Chillllllllll

This is pretty catchy. I like the little bouncy tune...good use of panning. You make use of phrasing very well...the different parts move around eachother very well.

I wish it went into more detail and explored the theme a little bit more. It could also use some delay to make it sound a little more dreamy. Still, it's fun to listen to.

LL

Check out some of my stuff and let me know what ya think!

Lova-Gurl responds:

ok i will and thanks

ur gettin better

Good piece, good movement, great arrangement (all the little pieces work very well together). What you simply need is better sounds. I don't know what you use, but if it's Reason or Fruityloops, download more sounds, mes with them until you are blue in the face and/or use effects more effectively.

Peace up a town down.

LL

Go to the bank

and cash this one in. This is a tight-ass beat. I really like it when all the drums come in at :58. It was like you read my mind. The track as a whole exhibits a really cool feeling...one that I can't explain. It's kinda like something from "The Beach" if you've seen that movie. The strings sound great with the exception of the sample. Good strings samples are hard to come by and even harder to arrange into a techno beat. Great sound selection and mastering too (except for the two sounds at the beginning...maybe putting a delay and a flanger or other effects on them will help)

One thing I really wanted to hear was maybe a breakdown where all but one or two sounds are dropped out and then built back into the mix. It kinda gets busy towards the end.

This song is tight man. Great work.

zeeber85 responds:

thanks for the review! This one came from the heart and mind. My emotions were a complete unorganized mess, and this song brought out that feeling of being lost and confused. :P

I like how it turned out!

what?

I'm going to give you a 15 for originality, but this isn't easy to listen to. I feel like I'm out of breath. I'm all about experimenting though so props for that.

pakaroki responds:

thanks for the review. Yeah, it is kinda hard to listen to, I was afraid people would tell me that nothing was there because it was so quiet.
