I want a pink shark

Ah Crap...I just hit the pipe and I SUCK at Nintendo games. I dont think I'm ever getting out of this bubble. Yeah, I'm pretty sure this song just makes everything alright. For 3:54 I haven't a care in the world. Um, I mean, except getting to the pink shark level, I WANT THAT!

I want admiral back

This song is perfect for my mood right now. I'm sad, but not yet lost after my newest song was berated by newgrounds, haha. The new version is definitely better. I think the new percussion sounds helped a lot (you love that whip snare!). And yes I heard the new sine lead that accompanies the hook. Very nice. They dance well together. This one is up there with synthesis for me...JUWANNEDIT!

Wow, you actually read the past responses! Quite a rare breed you are ;) . Yes, it will be a LONG while before the Flash animation I mentioned turns up . . .

That extended version just MAY show up there before the animation comes out! ;)

Cheers.

I think i'll have a copy

This piece is so dark and delicious. when that beat kicks in, it feels like ass kickin' time! that's pretty cool. Way to use some interesting sounds and arrange them in an interesting way. Thanks for doing something different! I think i'll have a copy

boom cha, boom boom cha

This is one of the best break beats (or any beat for that matter) that I've heard on NG. I could ride out to this shit. Haha. My only criticism is the strings. It's so easy to over use them, you should try to put together a thick pad with some vocals mixed in or something for the long flowing phrases. And double up the rythm lead L and R to make it fatter! Keep these beats coming!

uh huh

I can hear your piano and theory training hard at work on this one. haha. I like how you don't give it all away too early with this piece. You let your builds do their job. I would give it a 5 just because you didn't use the traditional "stomp" beat. However, I'm giving it a 5 because everything else is seamless and beautiful.

Finally

I look for simple, powerful, and masterful. I think this song has all 3. It's quick and to the point. I like your fluid integration of all your tracks and melodies. And most importantly, this song has the emotional power driving it that most of these "good" songs lack for me. I don't have no helpful criticism on this one, just keep it up.

Tight

This piece has a very organic feel. I like how you didn't use the textbook synths for this one (I'm partial to piano). Good energetic melody with excellent transitions. I wish you had done more with the singing pad that floats in the background at the very beginning...It's a great sound- so sad. I hate reviews that are all kiss-ass, so if I had to give you some criticism, I would suggest that you try and pull even more emotion out of this one. Make them bitches cry! Keep it up man.

Get off the train Biff!

Damnit everyone, download this song right now, put it on your iPods and walk down the street. Guaranteed your shadow will break it down in ways you never knew it could be broken.

Gorgeous

This review is basically for all of your K&K work. Simply put, it is quite amazing, i love the variety and ingenuity that you work into your pieces. Every musical idea flows flawlessly with the next and with emphasis in all the right places. Ha, I'm sure that's why you got the job. I am an aspiring film scorer as well and your music is an inspiration. I do have a question- do you use Pro Tools and are these electronic or real sounds?

Edgen responds:

Thank you for the kind words about my work. I appreciate that! I use gigastudio as my sampler and then I use sample libraries for my sounds. My midi program is Sonar so I haven't had a chance to work with Pro Tools yet. PT is like the industry standard, so eventually you've gota learn it cause that's what all the big guys use. Best of luck and send me some of your work one day. I'd love to hear it! /j
